Tagging and Pricing
After you have registered as a consignor, it is time to get started!
Gather and organize your items
The more organized you are, the quicker tagging and Drop Off will be!  Organize your clothing items by Gender and Size before you start.
Pricing your items
Our consignors set their own prices. We suggest 1/3 of the retail price. However, double strollers, outdoor play equipment, new items with tags still on, or "like new" designer brands sometimes sell for closer to 40-50% of the original price.
Keep in mind shoppers are looking for bargains, so price to sell. Sellers who price reasonably and allow items to be discounted on half-price day generally sell a high percentage of their items. There is no limit on how many total items you can bring to the sale as long as they all meet our quality standards. (Every item will be inspected!)

Computer Entry (It's Easy, Quick & Fun)
We use a point of sale system that allows you to enter your items on a computer. Each item's tag will print out with a barcode.  This is an efficient way to sell your items and also allow you the ability to check your sales online!
First create an account by registering as a consignor. You will be asked for your name, address and email, then you will choose a password and be assigned a Consignor ID (write these down!).
Now it's time to tag those items! Gather your clothing in a neat pile next to your computer.
Tagging tips:
  • Sorting your items by Gender and Size before you sit down to enter them online will save you time. The system remembers all previous information entered except price, so by having them sorted you can take advantage of the pre-filled fields and re-enter only price and description fields...thus making your tag time even more efficient!
  • There are two description fields on each tag. Type the Name Brand in the first field and then the type of item in the second field. For example: "Gymboree" in first field, "Floral top and pants” in second field.
  • Do not use all caps when entering descriptions.
  • If you make an error or need to correct an item, you can either click "Edit Item" or go to the Manager Inventory Tab.
  • If you remove an item from your account, the system will delete this item permanently and you will have a break in your numbered items. If you want to keep track of exactly how many items you are selling, you may choose to just "Edit" this item instead.
  Printing your tags
Once you have priced your items, it's time to print your tags!
  • Make sure your tags are printed on WHITE cardstock paper. Regular copy paper will not hold up!
  • Your printer must use normal toner (no dot matrix printers).
  • Use Normal or Draft print setting. Best quality is too dark and causes barcodes to bleed. Test print one page of tags to make sure the barcodes are crisp and clear. You should be able to see lines between the barcode. If lines bleed together, then reprint using a lower quality print.
  • If you have a color printer, make sure you select "Black cartridge only" from the printing properties screen. Otherwise the tags can appear purple and blurry.
  • Select the items you want to print. Just click in the box next to the item or click on the "Check All" box.
  • When you are ready to print, just go to the Print Tags tab and follow the instructions.
Tagging your items
Once your tags are printed it is time to attach them to your items! We offer our consignors the option to use either a tagging gun or safety pins to secure your tags on items. Tagging guns are a faster and easier way to tag your items. When attaching tags to items make sure the description matches the item. Do not tape over the barcode! Our scanners cannot read through tape.
Clothing
  • We accept all children's clothing in sizes newborn to Juniors.
  • Sleepers sell best when two or three are safety pinned together on one hanger.
  • Please safety pin all items of a set together so that they can be viewed without unpinning them.
  • When attaching tags (if using a tagging gun), please attach tags to the seam under the left arm (right as you look at garment).
  • The hanger hook should face the left (like a ?).
When using SAFETY PINS tags are to be pinned on the left chest OR to the seam under the left arm of each clothing item. When you are facing the item, it will be on your right. If you need to tape your tag to non-clothing items, tape only above the cut line. Do not tape over the BAR code.
Shoes
  • Please only bring your like-new shoes. (No dirty shoes, please!)
  • Tie the shoes together and attach tag with another tie or string.
Bedding
  • If possible, please package bedding sets together in a clear plastic bag.
  • For single pieces, place them in a Ziploc bag with the tag taped to the outside.
Loose Items
For smaller items like baby bottles, rattles, socks, bibs, bows, etc, please group them together in Ziploc bags.
Toys, Games, Furniture, Equipment
  • Must be clean and in working order with batteries in them.
  • Attach small parts to the toy/equipment in Ziploc bags.
  • Check game and puzzles to make sure all pieces are included.
  • Puzzles, books, videos and small toys that are not in boxes should be put in Ziploc bags.
  • Puzzles should be wrapped securely in clear Saran wrap with the tag taped to the outside with clear packing tape, to keep the pieces intact.
Car Seats
We do not accept car seats older than 5 years. Visit the Consumer Product Safety Commission at www.cpsc.gov or call 1-800-638-2772 for recall information.
Furniture
Furniture sells well! Don't forget those cribs, beds, kids' dressers, high chairs, changing tables, swings, kitchen sets, kid tables and chair sets and Little Tikes equipment. Make sure to secure the tag to an easy-to-read location. *We can not accept ANY drop-side cribs!
Cribs can only be accepted if manufactured on or after June 28, 2011. Cribs that were manufactured from July 23, 2010 to June 28, 2011 (the date must be on the crib), MAY be accepted for resale at our event if they are accompanied by a Certificate of Compliance from the crib manufacturer. Second Impressions cannot accept any cribs manufactured prior to July 23, 2010 (even if they are being sold as toddler beds).  For more details on laws 16 CFR 1219 or 16 CFR 1220 click: Updated: The New Crib Standard: Questions and Answers | OnSafety

Important: Place masking tape with your consignor number on each large item and on items that contain more than one piece. This will eliminate confusion if a tag is accidentally removed or pieces get separated.  You may also print resort stickers from your consignor homepage to place on items.
